Monastery of the Ascension is situated in Vardiste, 18 kilometers east of Visegrad, on the border of Serbia and Republic of Srpska.
The monastery temple was built from 1991 to 1994 and consecrated in 1996. It served as a parish church, and by the decision of the Metropolitan Nikolai in 2006. a female monastery was founded on this place.
Within the monastery there is the iconographic workshop where nuns made and paint icons, both for the iconostasis in the temples, as well as for the needs of Orthodox homes.
