Monastery of the Ascension in Vardiste

The Monastery of the Ascension of the Lord is located in Vardiste, 18 kilometers east of Visegrad, on the border of Serbia and Republika Srpska.
The monastery church was built from 1991 to 1994, and was consecrated in 1996. It served as a parish church, and by decision of Metropolitan Nikolaj in 2006, the first women’s monastery in the Metropolis of Dabro-Bosnia was founded on this site.
Within the monastery there is an iconographic workshop where nuns make and paint icons, both for iconostases in temples and for the needs of Orthodox homes.

In the Monastery of the Ascension of the Lord there is a miraculous icon of the Mother of God of the Three Hands, which helps everyone who prays before it. It was drawn with the blessing of Metropolitan Nikolaj by the abbess of the monastery, Mati Jefimija, who is otherwise engaged in icon painting.

You can buy natural remedies in the monastery’s church shop.
