The International Folklore Festival, at which nine companies from Republika Srpska and Serbia will perform, will be held on Saturday, June 17 in Visegrad.
The artistic director of the Serbian falconry society “King Petar Ujedinitelj” Danijela Sućur told reporters that this year’s festival will gather numerous guests from Serbia and Republika Srpska, and will begin with a traditional parade of folklorists through the streets of Visegrad at 6:00 p.m.
“The citizens of Višegrad will have the opportunity to see the variety of costumes in which the participants will perform at the concert that will be held in Andrićgrad,” Šućureva said.
Members of the societies will perform at this festival – Ensemble of Folk Songs and Dances Cultural-Art Society /KUD/ “Stubline” from Obrenovac, Association of Folklore Ensembles “Tradicija” from Trstenik, KUD “Jovan Dučić” from Nova Gajdobra, KUD “Vesna” from Mojkovac, KUD “Moravica” from Ivanjica, Association of Citizens “Era” from Užice, KUD “Oplenac” Topola, KUD “Golija” from Novi Pazar, KUD “Kraljevačka riznica” from Kraljevo and hosts KUD “Kralj Petar ujeditelj” and KUD “Bikavac”.
The International Folklore Festival in Višegrad has been held since 2004, and for the last three years it has not been held due to the corona virus pandemic.
The concert is planned for 18:30 at the sports field in Andrićgrad, and in case of bad weather conditions, it will be held in the Town Hall.
The patrons of the festival are the municipality of Višegrad and the company “HE na Drina” Višegrad.
